BMW AT-200 V1.6.1 added a new authorization for writing ISN on BMW MSD80/MSD81/MSD85/MSD87/MSV80 and MSV90. This post mainly shares the guide to read and write ISN for MSD81/85 and MSV80 no need opening the DME shell.s
Requirements:
DME module: BMW MSD81/85/MSV90
Computer: Laptop or desktop
Device:
BMW AT200 ECU programmer

MSD81/85/MSV90 Write ISN authorization
Note: Offer the serial number of your AT200 to dealer to activate authorization you want
Preparation:
Connect AT200 ECU programmer to PC
Open AT200 software
Select car brand, car brand, model, Engine- EGS and ECU
Click Next button
Main steps:
1.Wiring
2.Identify
3.Read ISN
4.Write ISN
BMW AT200 V1.6.1 read & write MSD85 ISN:
Enter main operation interface
1.Wiring
Follow the wiring diagram in the software to connect AT-200 with MSD85 DME via ISN OBD cable
2.Identify
Identify DME VIN, identification number and model
3.Read ISN
Get authorization and read out ISN
4.Write ISN
Read MSD85 DME PFLASH, DFLASH, XROM and EXT EEPROM data
Save the original data
Backup data successfully
Input a new ISN instead of the original one
Write ISN successfully
Read ISN again
The ISN read out is same as the new one
AT200 BMW read and write MSD85 ISN successfully
